| A message had arrived via carrying hawk to Sunagakure's aviary merely a few days before. Even in the days of modern technology they had no use for transportation, as ninja were faster. Of course ninja still needed to wait and rest after a day but transportation would only make the three day journey to Sunagakure that much longer.
The message had detailed, of course, that the Hokage was going to come have a meeting with Lady Myuto, the Seventh Kazekage of Sunagakure. He had never met another Kage outside of Konohagakure, so naturally Suzaku was meeting the event with high anticipation.
"This is what being a Kage is all about, you know?" he said to the five ANBU Spec Ops with him. "Not a bunch of paperwork in a desk...but actually going out into the world; doing things to secure a better future!" One of the ANBU managed a chuckle; Migi, who Suzaku had known for some time. He was a guard of the former Hokage.
"It's interesting to see a Hokage so enthusiastic. Then again I suppose that's what young people do."
Suzaku could only chuckle as they came within view of the gates. They would slow their advance about fifty meters out, and begin walking slowly, so as not to rouse any paranoia.

The Kazekage had recieved word that the Hokage and his guards were approaching the gate, and would arrive shortly. Rising from her desk, she nodded to Renga, who simply grunted and moved towards the door and stepped out. He would proceed down to the entrance, where she would meet him in just a few moments. After gathering up her papers and sliding them back into her desk, Myuto followed after her Bodyguard.
They ended up arriving at the gates at the same time, considering he had a slower gait, and stood side by side until the Kazekage noticed the approaching envoy, at which point she looked at Renga, motioning for him to stay back whilst she moved forward and stood waiting for them to enter. Nodding at the Village Guards, the path was clear for them to enter.

| Yanagi looked up at the signs of sand being kicked up in the distance. It wasn't like the usual sandstorms they had; no, this was a platoon moving. She stopped punching the tree and quickly decided she should get back inside the village. She ran for the gates, running through saying numerous "Excuse me!"s and "Sorry!"s as she weaved through all the guards.
Much to Yanagi's surprise, she found Lady Myuto waiting at the gates...and she was about to run straight into her! She dug her heels into the ground, skidding to a stop in front of the Kazekage. "L-lady Seventh! Sorry I almost ran into you...but there's a platoon coming for the gates!" She blinked. "Wait...is that why you're here?"
Suzaku walked through the gates as the guards stood aside, smiling slightly at them as he came through with his ANBU squadron. "You guys fell into rank quickly...I guess that's to be expected of the Sand. Well done." He gave a nod of courtesy, and walked through the gates with his squad to see Lady Myuto. He smiled slightly, his Hokage cap strapped at his waist.
"Lady Seventh, it's an honor to meet such a lovely woman for the first time." He dipped his head in respect. He wanted to be able to bow but that would make him look like he was inferior, and that wasn't good for politics. "I am Uchiha Suzaku, the Eighth Hokage of Konohagakure. I am humbled to be so welcome in Sunagakure."
Yanagi blinked at the man. He was an Uchiha...and Hokage? She had just met another one of the most important people in the world over! She looked at Myuto, whispering. "I think he likes you..."

Myuto chuckled softly as she was approached by a rather flustered Yanagi. She turned with a calm expression towards her student, and offered a reassuring smile. "At ease, Yanagi, there's no danger. The Hokgage has come for a diplomatic meeting regarding the Chunin Exams."
In response to her comment about the Hokage liking her, she could only suppress an amused grin and coo in return. "That's politics, my dear. Every politician is your best friend until they decide to stop being your best friend." She didn't know anything of the Uchiha's personality, so she could only refer to past experience.
With that, she returned to attention to the Hokage as he addressed the guards standing dutifully at the gate. Curious, the Kazekage took another step forward, motioning for Yanagi to join her, and for Renga to stay back a bit. "The honor is mine, Lord Eighth. It's not every day I get to have a diplomatic meeting with someone who doesn't have skin that looks like wrinkled sandpaper, or a voice that sounds like.. well.. wrinkled sandpaper." She chuckled softly, nodding her own head in return.
"Sunagakure is happy to host you and your guards while we discuss the opportunity that has been presented to us."

| Yanagi blinked up at Myuto. The Chunin Exams? Had the Chunin Exams come so soon? But she was glad, nonetheless, that the Sand wasn't about to be attacked. She said that every politician liked you until they didn't want to be your friend anymore, and she blinked, finding it a bit odd. "That's weird...why wouldn't you two just be friends?"
She blushed gently as she was beckoned forward by Myuto. She wanted her to be there with the Hokage? Still, she stepped forward, albeit nervously. Suzaku chuckled a little. "I can agree with that feeling. Why do the village elders always have to be village elders? I feel like they should retire without having to deal with all of this in their old age." He looked down at Yanagi, smiling. "And who's this you brought with you? A friend?" Yanagi smiled, but didn't answer, feeling like it wasn't her place to speak right now.
"I thank you for your hospitality, Lady Seventh. ANBU, dismissed." Migi gave him a look, but nodded, and led the squadron elsewhere.

Myu glanced at Yanagi. Of course, there was room for friendship in the life of a Kage, but not right away. Instant trust often led to weakness later when a stronger hand was required -- not that the Kazekage had a propensity for using a 'stronger hand' -- thus, she spoke softly to her student before they approached. "There is something you will learn as you go on in life, Nagi-Chan... True friendship -- just like trust -- is something earned and developed over time, and until that time, the best you can offer is honest niceties."
The blonde then turned her attention to the Hokage as he approached, and spoke for a bit on the topic of village elders, as well as inquiring towards Yanagi's identity. After his words ceased, the Kazekage nodded and smiled, placing one of her hands on Yanagi's shoulder. "Lord Hokage, I'd like for you to meet one of my students, Yanagi. Yanagi, meet the esteemed Hokage."
Lifting her hand from her student's shoulder, Myo glanced back at Renga. Just as Suzaku dismissed his guards, the Kazekage dismissed hers. With a nod, Renga turned and left the area at a leisurely pace.

| Yanagi listened to Lady Myuto as she spoke of important lessons later on in life, saying that true friendship is something earned and developed over time, and that people were just polite until they got to that point. Yanagi didn't really understand, but smiled when she was introduced to Lord Suzaku as Lady Myuto's apprentice.
Suzaku smiled and offered a hand to Yanagi. "It's nice to meet you, Yanagi. If you're a student of the reputed Lady Myuto, I'm sure you're going to get far in your career. Hopefully you can do it peacefully," he said with a kind smile.
Yanagi beamed. He was so nice! She tentatively took his hand, giving it a light shake before backing away. "Th-the pleasure is all mine, Lord Suzaku." She looked at him and then to Lady Myuto, and then back to Suzaku. "W-well...I've got to go train, so...it was nice meeting you!"
She waved to them both before speeding off, kicking up dust. Suzaku chuckled.
"Well, she's certainly lively..."
