Medicine (Open)

Reaper looks through the goods, searching for burn cream.He'd ran out of it yesterday, and already his face was getting stiffer and more sensitive.The ninja sighs,his ragged voice rumbling out."Its no good...I can't tell what would be the best choice..And they don't seem to have what I usually get today..."

Tatsuta was out in town when she noticed a sight that gave her deja vu. The man called Reaper whom she first encountered outside the village was browsing a shop for burn medicine. She was unaware of the details as to why he, an outsider, was allowed to stay in Konoha, but if it was the Hokage's decision, then she had no objections.

"Konoha makes excellent medicine, regardless of what you choose. But considering your condition, it's only a temporary relief. I suppose you don't have the means to get more permanent treatment, Reaper?"

She spoke a little more casually than before as she approached him. If he was given freedom to walk around the village, then at least he wasn't an enemy.

Reaper looks up, seeing Tatsuta, and bows." Greetings to you, ma'am....and no, I haven't the necessary funds in order to procur the treatment necessary, not without sacrificing food for me and my ward..." He says below his breath," I don't deserve it, anyway...." Then the young exmerc blinks." What do you know of my condition, by the way?" He adjusts his mask.

For such a suspicious looking man, his intentions were apparently noble. Tatsuta would give him the benefit of the doubt. She did wonder though who and where the ward he was for referring to was now.

"Nothing you don't already know I'm sure. Untreated burns leave lasting pain. It's definitely not something most people would choose to live with if they could help it."

Her gaze briefly met his as she glanced at his mask.

"Call me curious, but I can't help but think that the only reason you're allowed to move about freely inside the village like this is because the Hokage gave you a job of sorts. Is it like that?"

Suzaku wasn't an idiot but he wasn't too kind either. Reaper's privilege to stay was most likely under certain conditions.

Reaper blinks."....Sometimes, you have to live with pain.....I just need to take the worst of it off, so I can focus on my duty." Then she asks if he had been given a job, in order to be allowed to roam about."....Of sorts....I'm to be a ninja of these village, in return for help accomplishing my goal."

Tatsuta smiled.

"Live with the pain? And yet here you are looking for burn cream."

She didn't have anything against sentimental ninjas, but that didn't stop her from thinking how beyond logical it was to choose to keep old injuries that could hinder their ability to perform in a mission. She would be lying if she said that it didn't bother her a bit that a man like him would become a Konoha ninja. A mistake caused by leaving an injury untreated could cost not just his own life but his teammates as well.

"That's an interesting deal for sure. But I suppose it makes what I'm about to offer a little easier to approve. You see, it is well within my abilities to fix you up and relieve you of your old injuries. At lease the physical aspect of it. You're going to have to ask someone else to help with the emotional and psychological issues."

"If you had not yet decided on compensation for your next job, I would recommend treatment courtesy of myself. You'll never have to worry about buying burn cream again."

Reaper looks at as she smiles and comments.".....I'm only looking to keep my face,and myself,in working order...." He blinks as she offers to fix his face."Y....You could really do that?I...." He stops, pressing a hand against his mask."I thank you for the offer, but...I can't.I have something I must do." Just rtor a minute,his cold exterior had dropped,but now it was back in place."I understand it is foolish and dangerous to cling to a wound this serious,but I  don't have the right....I can't let myself be healed completely.I'm aware this sounds completely idiotic, but still......Its a remainder not to fail again."

Such as stubborn fellow, was what Tatsuta thought. If he were a regular ninja, he would have received a doctor's stop from the hospital for sure. Clearly has yet to have a proper check-up, else they wouldn't be having this conversation. She sighed.

"If you must have a reminder, it's simple enough to just rid you of the pain. You can keep your battle scars if that's what makes you happy and motivated. I do my part in making sure our ninja are in their best condition before going out on missions. In your state, they would only end up looking after you. Surely you'd rather not be a burden?"

She paused to allow that to sink in before continuing.

"Perhaps you don't know as you are an outsider, but Konoha ninjas take care of their own. It's a matter we take very seriously."

" ...its not just a reminder..its punishment.."But then she makes the point that his pain would make him a burden on whatever team he's assigned to, and then that in kohona they look after their own.".......I've been on my own for a long time....I haven't thought about how it would effect a team I'm part of..Didn't even think anyone would care enough to notice..." A pulse shoots through his face,and his knees bend slightly."....Very well.Ill do it."

Tatsuta smiled. "Then we have a deal."

In a way it was her own personal test to the apparently new member of their village. If he could successfully accomplish a mission in his current condition, then she could at least confirm some sincerity in his words. It would then be worth the time to administer surgery to fix him him up. As for his psychological issues, she would have to leave that in the hands of an expert.

"When you return successfully from your first job as a ninja of Konoha, come find me again. It shouldn't be too hard. Nearly everyone in the village knows where I live. I'll treat your wounds then."

"Know that I expect great things from Konoha ninja, even if they are newbies. You'd better not mess up and fail."

Carrot and stick. That was a classic Tatsuta approach. She waved goodbye and went on her way.

Reaper nods." Very well.I will do as you asked.And I refuse to fail...." He watches as Tatsuta walks away,then examines the creams again,looking at the bag of food in his hand."..........." He'd get cream tommorow. Today was the day for food. He pays for the supplies,then walks out..
